One of the most incredible things about early childhood education is the opportunity to watch a young reader grow not only in skill but in passion. The scariest part though is when that child is lacking the confidence to grow in their reading abilities. Of the trials I have faced while parenting, homeschooling is definitely the most challenging. There are constant doubts and fears of if we are doing adequate work, if they are learning sufficiently, and even if I am enough as an individual, parent, and teacher. Stepping back and seeing my child doubt themselves though? Heartbreaking.
