Nestled on the eastern outskirts of Terre Haute, Indiana is Dobbs Memorial Park. We stopped by one afternoon for a bit of learning and some play and really enjoyed all that we found!

On site is a 3-acre pond surrounded by small shelters which would be perfect for outdoor activities, birthday parties, or picnics. Please note that while fishing is allowed at the pond, it is catch-and-release unless the fish caught meet the state size requirements and you are a licensed to fish in Indiana. There are also three miles of trails, a restored prairie, and our littlest little’s favorite: a butterfly garden. She loved smelling all of the flowers and watching for butterflies. Absolutely adorable!
Along with the outside activities, Dobbs Memorial Park is also home to a nature center and the Native American Museum. We took some time exploring both before heading over to the playground. There we found a full swing set, teeter totter, and play set. If you’re looking for a good place to let the littles out to run, this would be it!
