A few months ago, a post on our Twitter page was liked by Bookroo and something about them really caught my attention. Sure, I’ve seen a ton of subscription box services available but the one on one connections they offer really stood out. I have been reading more and more of their posts across different social medias and am completely smitten with their company. So, last week, I wrote in to them to chat a little more about their delivery options. I went ahead with an order and am excited to announce that it arrived today!

The box itself was addressed to Aryanna & Alexandra but inside this plain box was a surprise. Two individually wrapped books which would make the pefect addition to our “100 Books in August” challenge! The paper wrapping was so strong that both girls needed a little help. It definitely was not of a cheap quality but instead durable and gorgeous. I was very impressed! Once we got them open, we discovered that the two books included in our box were Hugless Douglas and the Big Sleepover and Pirate Nap: A Book of Colors.
The girls immediately begged to read Hugless Douglas so Wes, our campground manager who had hand delivered the package, quickly obliged. A sweet story about a bear who has a sleepover with a bunch of sheep at a rabbit’s house, I’m not sure it could have been any more adorable.
My favorite of the two though has to be Pirate Nap. Not only is the tale super cute but we also got to introduce a few new terms and words including “dance a jig”, and “briny”. What is better than your kids being excited about new books? Well, them learning new vocabulary from those same books, of course! I would highly recommend either of these stories for your budding readers as a special family treat. We have even already placed an order for the original Hugless Douglas book!
Bookroo definitely knows what they are doing and the representatives I have dealt with via social media, emails, and even their website chat feature have all been top notch.
